Perio Institute Presents
Crown Lengthening Workshop
|
AGD |
| This 7-hour "hands on" course is intended for the general dentist that wants to do some or most of their own crown extensions. There are many issues that will be addressed at this workshop including biologic width, soft tissue crown lengthening, osseous crown lengthening, crown root ratio, anterior and posterior crown lengthening. The course is designed to provide the dentist with all the principles of hard and soft tissue surgery necessary to plan and carry out crown extension procedures. Crown extension is one of the most commonly required procedures in operative dentistry. Relocation of the structures comprising the biologic width requires varying degrees of soft and hard tissue removal. We will explore indications and contraindications for crown lengthening and methods of gradualizing surrounding bone to create positive architecture. This course provides a maximum "hands on" experience coupled with a detailed slide presentation. |

Letter From Doug Proudlock |

| Dear Doctor, This "Hands On" course is designed for dentists who want to do some or most of their own crown extensions. This workshop is designed to help you achieve that goal. We will be teaching simple to hard crown lengthening cases. All hands-on exercises will use fresh frozen pig jaws for soft tissue flap design and anatomically correct plaster models for actual osseous crown lengthening. Biologic width, crown retention, and crown root ratios will be discussed as well as soft tissue crown lengthening. This is a stand-alone course that will allow you to do many of your own crown lengthening cases. If you choose not to do your cases, it will help you understand the principles. Often, when dealing with crown lengthening, it becomes apparent that extracting is the best answer, and a bridge or an implant may be the treatment of choice. All these issues will be discussed, plus hands-on training. Please call me personally if you have any questions, at 1-800-327-3746 Sincerely, Doug Proudlock,
President |
