Dr. James Kohner is originally from Cleveland, Ohio. He graduated from The Ohio State University, and Case Western Reserve University Dental School, and obtained his certification in Periodontics from the Boston University School of Graduate Dentistry. He currently lives in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Dr. Kohner is an experienced teacher who has presented courses on Soft Tissue Grafting and Crown Lengthening to a wide range of audiences, including many state associations all over the US and in 8 foreign countries, and has presented at the American Academy of Periodontology meetings for many years. He has been teaching for the Perio Institute since 2003.

He is a Fellow of both the American Society of Osseointegration and International Congress of Oral Implantology, as well as an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology.

Dr. Allen Kvidera graduated from the University of Iowa, College of Dentistry with his Dental degree.  He participated in an NIH sponsored Periodontal/Ph.D. program and received his Periodontal certification and interdisciplinary Phd. in Periodontics sponsored by Anatomy from the University of Iowa.  He is a Diplomate of the American Academy of Periodontology.  Dr. Kvidera has practiced Periodontics since 1978 and has been in a private practice limited to Periodontics since 1981 and provides all phases of Periodontal and Implant treatment.   He has taught in the University of Iowa, Department of Periodontics as an adjunct assistant professor since 1985, working with Periodontal Residents and Dental Students.  Dr. Kvidera is a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Periodontology and the International College of Dentists. He is a past President of the Iowa Society of Periodontology. Dr. Kvidera enjoys the “hands on” approach to teaching the principles of periodontal surgery.
