Periodontal Surgical Skills Workshop

Price: $995.00  (14 CE hours - participation)

The Perio Institute has been teaching mild to moderate periodontal surgical skills to the general practicing dentist for over twenty years. Our Periodontal Surgical Skills Workshop is suitable for all dental professionals who wish to upgrade their knowledge and therapeutic methods.

The need for proficiency in basic periodontal surgery is increasing in general practice as more practitioners are becoming efficient at periodontal examination and diagnostic techniques. This participatory course is designed to enhance or develop the practitioner's skill in basic periodontal flap surgery. Most Perio Institute graduates are surprised to find out that while we teach perio surgical procedures, we are not pro-surgery.

The surgical procedures will be taught on fresh frozen swine mandibles, which will provide a clear understanding of each procedure. Topics to be covered include instruments, basic flaps, modified Widman procedure, open flap curettage, continuous sling suture, palatal flaps, osseous concepts, surgical records, as well as how to select the general practice. Everything you will need for this Periodontal Surgical Skills Workshop will be furnished by the Perio Institute.

On completion of our course, you will have acquired a sound medical philosophy and critical skills that you can build on as you continue to practice and study. If your goal is to perform more of your own perio surgery, then this is a course that you won't want to miss! There is no better way to enhance the care you can provide your patients on Monday morning than to experience this intensive weekend course.
